Tipper Truck Accident Claims Life of Motorcyclist in Lagos

A motorcyclist was tragically crushed to death by a tipper truck at Ilasa Bus Stop, inward Mile 2, Lagos State, around 3:18 pm. The incident involved a tipper truck loaded with sand, marked 19F 992FG, which allegedly lost control and collided with the motorcycle from behind.

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the details in a statement. The agency's Eagle Response Team was dispatched to the scene within approximately 15 minutes after receiving a distress call.

Unfortunately, an adult male passenger on the motorcycle succumbed to injuries from the collision. LASEMA responders, alongside paramedics, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officials, and police, managed the scene.

The deceased's remains were respectfully bagged and returned to family members. The tipper truck and motorcycle were removed from the roadway and taken to Ilasamaja Police Station for further investigation.

Oke-Osanyintolu urged drivers, especially of articulated vehicles, to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations.
