Trump Endorses Mike Lindell for Minnesota Governor Race

On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump officially endorsed MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell in the race for governor of Minnesota, calling him “one of America’s greatest and most hard-working Patriots.” Lindell reacted to the endorsement as unexpected and significant, stating it would give hope for change in Minnesota.

He emphasized that while he appreciates Trump’s support, he would not follow Trump’s position on every issue. A recent SurveyUSA/KSTP poll indicated Lindell leading the Republican primary with 27% support, followed by House Speaker Lisa Demuth at 22% and Kendall Qualls at 17%.

Qualls responded to the endorsement by asserting that the nomination should be decided by Minnesota voters, not national figures. Early voting has commenced for the Republican primary scheduled for August 11.

Lindell, a staunch ally of Trump, reiterated his proposal to eliminate electronic voting machines in favor of hand-counted paper ballots. The endorsement faced criticism from the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, which accused Republican candidates of seeking Trump’s approval.
