Nicki Minaj Backs Trump at Michigan Rally for Republicans

Rapper Nicki Minaj praised US President Donald Trump during a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, stating he has “changed the energy of the country.” Minaj urged voters to support Republican candidates, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming elections. She wore a gold-coloured Gucci-branded suit and led the crowd in chanting Trump’s name.

Trump complimented Minaj, calling her beautiful and smart. Minaj traveled to Michigan aboard Air Force One with Trump and appeared in a video joking about interviewing for the White House press secretary position.

Although she has previously criticized some of Trump's policies, she has also supported certain positions, including his views on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. The rally coincided with Michigan’s Senate race, where Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed faced Republican Mike Rogers.

Trump made controversial remarks about El-Sayed’s Muslim faith, which El-Sayed condemned as Islamophobic. The political battle for control of Congress is intensifying as both parties mobilize voters ahead of the November midterms.
