Tuchel's Tactics Criticized After England's World Cup Loss

In the FIFA World Cup semi-final held in Atlanta, England suffered a 2-1 defeat against Argentina, leading to criticism of manager Thomas Tuchel from striker Brown Ideye. England initially took the lead in the 55th minute through Anthony Gordon.

However, Argentina mounted a late comeback, with Enzo Fernandez equalizing five minutes before full-time and Lautaro Martinez scoring in stoppage time, assisted by Lionel Messi. Ideye criticized Tuchel's tactical approach, stating that the manager's decision to adopt a defensive mindset surrendered the initiative to Argentina.

He noted that Tuchel's substitutions, including bringing on Marcus Rashford and Ivan Toney, were aimed at defending rather than maintaining offensive pressure. Despite Jordan Pickford's impressive saves, including a reflex save against Nico Gonzalez's header, England could not hold on to their lead.

The defeat means England will not reach their first men's World Cup final since 1966, while Argentina will face Spain in the final.
