Tuggar Urges Broadcasters to Safeguard Nigeria's Information Sovereignty

Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of independent broadcasters in safeguarding Nigeria's information sovereignty and enhancing national security. Speaking at the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Independent Broadcast Association of Nigeria (IBAN), Tuggar highlighted the role of broadcast media in shaping the nation's narrative and countering foreign misinformation.

He stressed the need for high-quality local content to assert Nigeria's sovereignty on the global stage. Kimiebi Ebienfa, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, echoed the significance of broadcast media in promoting unity and understanding among Nigeria's diverse population.
