Moin Chaabani Named Head Coach of Tunisia National Team

The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has appointed Moin Chaabani as the new head coach of the senior national team, signing him to a four-year contract that will last until 2030. Chaabani replaces French coach Hervé Renard, who oversaw Tunisia's final two matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi following a 5-1 defeat to Sweden.

Tunisia's World Cup campaign was disappointing, as they lost all three group matches, marking the first time the country finished without a point in a World Cup. Chaabani, 45, comes with a strong coaching record, having previously managed Renaissance de Berkane and Esperance de Tunis, winning multiple titles.

His first major challenge will be preparing Tunisia for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, starting in September, where Tunisia is grouped with Uganda, Libya, and Botswana. Chaabani's appointment aims to end the instability that has seen seven coaches lead the national team since 2024.
