Tunji Disu Appointed Nigeria's New Inspector-General of Police

Tunji Disu has emerged as Nigeria's 23rd Inspector-General of Police, taking over from Kayode Egbetokun amid expectations for improved security and enhanced investigative capabilities. Born on April 13, 1966, in Lagos State, Disu joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992.

He has a degree in English Education from Lagos State University and a master's degree in Public Administration. His extensive training includes specialized courses in areas such as small arms trafficking, cybercrime, and forensic investigation.

Disu has held significant positions, including leading the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos and overseeing complex law enforcement operations as the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. His role as Assistant Inspector-General of Police focused on strengthening investigative standards and improving case management processes.

Disu's leadership experience is expected to shape the next phase of reform within the Nigeria Police Force.
