PDP Faction Challenges Wike's Threat to Seal Office

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki has publicly challenged Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over his threat to shut down their office. This dispute arose following comments made by Wike during a monthly media briefing regarding the legitimacy of Turaki's faction.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, a former Deputy National Public Secretary and aide to Turaki, insisted that their faction operates openly and continues its activities despite Wike's threats. Abdullahi warned that Wike's actions could lead to the sealing of properties used by the party, which he described as an illegitimate reaction.

Ini Ememobong, spokesperson for Turaki's faction, dismissed Wike's remarks as exaggerated, asserting that the group remains functional and active. The ongoing conflict highlights a deepening rift within the PDP, with rival factions clashing over the legitimacy and control of the party structure, raising concerns about potential political instability in the country.
