Fenerbahçe's Saran Explains Lookman Transfer Failure

Sadettin Saran, the president of Fenerbahçe, revealed the reasons behind the unsuccessful attempt to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta during the January transfer window. Saran disclosed that Lookman expressed a desire to join Fenerbahçe, and discussions were initiated on December 19, when Saran traveled to Milan to meet with Lookman's agent.

Despite Lookman's interest, Atalanta favored a transfer to Atletico Madrid. Saran noted that Lookman had spoken with the Fenerbahçe coach two to three times, indicating his willingness to join the Turkish Super Lig side.

However, Atalanta was not willing to guarantee Lookman's salary, which led to the conclusion of the transfer process in favor of Atletico Madrid.
