Iranian Footballers Begin Training in Australia After Asylum

Two Iranian footballers, Pasandideh and Ramezanizadeh, have commenced training with the Brisbane Roar women's team in Australia after seeking asylum due to fears of persecution if they return to Iran. The players were granted humanitarian visas amid concerns for their safety.

Ramezanizadeh, 33, and Pasandideh, 21, shared their experiences on social media, expressing their fears about returning home. Reports indicate that five members of their delegation decided to return to Iran, highlighting the risks faced by the players.

The Iranian state media has criticized their protest against the national anthem during a match, which adds to their concerns. The two players are now focused on rebuilding their football careers in Australia while facing an uncertain future.

They previously traveled from Iran to Malaysia before arriving in Australia, and their future remains unclear as they navigate their new lives in a foreign country.
