Police Rescue Adebayo Adelabu's Relatives, Two Kidnappers Killed

On Saturday, during a police operation in Ibadan, Oyo State, two members of a kidnapping syndicate were shot dead while attempting to rescue relatives of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu. The operation, conducted by the Nigeria Police Force's intelligence response team, began at 7:30 PM and was prompted by the violent abduction of Adelabu's younger sister, Olaid John Paul, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter Paul.

The police utilized specialized tactics and intelligence gathering to track the kidnappers' movements. During the confrontation, the two suspects were fatally wounded, and two rifles were recovered.

The victims were rescued unharmed and received medical care. Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Placid praised the operation's success and emphasized ongoing efforts to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
