Kogi University Expels Two Students for Gay Practices

The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology, located in Osara, Kogi State, has expelled two students, Onumoko Hamza from the Biology Education Department and Abdulazeez Eneji from the Mining Engineering Department, due to alleged involvement in gay practices. This decision was made during the 31st Regular Meeting of the University Senate, following recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

The university also rusticated four other students—Favor Akowe from the Microbiology Department, Simbiat Babamuharuna from the Biology Department, Zainab Omayoza, and Sukura Bukola, both from the Biochemistry Department—for one academic session due to a campus fight. The disciplinary actions were communicated in letters signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academics, Eli Gbadafu, and were in accordance with the provisions of the Students’ Handbook, Second Edition, as amended in 2025.

The university management reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and warned students to adhere to the established rules and regulations.
