Two Brothers Killed in Ondo State Motorcycle Accident

On Wednesday, a fatal road accident occurred in the Ijapo area of Akure, Ondo State, resulting in the deaths of two brothers. The incident involved a truck, identified as a tipper, which collided with a motorcycle while a routine vehicle inspection was being conducted by officials.

The truck, which had no registration number, reportedly suffered brake failure, leading to the collision. The victims were riding the motorcycle when the truck rammed into them, killing them instantly.

The commercial driver of the truck, whose vehicle was severely damaged, remained anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the incident. Following the accident, Mr.

Samuel Ibitoye from the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the details, while DSP Abayomi Jimoh from the Nigeria Police Force stated that preliminary investigations indicated brake failure as the cause. The deceased were taken to the Ondo State Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Local youths attempted to attack officials at the scene, but police intervened to maintain order.
