Truck Accident at APC Campaign Rally in Ede Claims Life

On August 15, 2023, a truck lost its brakes and crashed into a crowd of supporters at an APC campaign rally in Ede, Osun State, leading to the death of Abdul Rasak Abdul Ham and injuring several others. The incident took place during the campaign for the upcoming governorship election.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck plowed into the crowd, causing chaos. The deceased was buried at a cemetery in Ede, attended by notable APC chieftains.

The TICC issued a statement expressing condolences to the affected families and described the incident as tragic. They called for a thorough investigation by security agencies to determine the cause of the accident.

Additionally, the APC campaign council criticized the conduct of the campaign director, Oluwol Ok, for allegedly being insensitive in the aftermath of the tragedy. Engr. Benjamin Adereti, the APC deputy governorship candidate, expressed sorrow over the loss and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.
