Oluder Opeyemi was later discovered unconscious in the pool and was rushed to the State Hospital in Ikar Akoko, where he was confirmed dead. The police have commenced an investigation, questioning the hotel and pool managers.

The bodies were deposited at the State Hospital morgue for autopsy.
