Typhoon Noul Strikes Southern China, Disrupts Transport

Typhoon Noul, classified as the 12th typhoon of the year, impacted Southern China on Saturday, bringing strong winds and heavy rain. The storm is anticipated to make landfall between Hong Kong and Lufeng in Guangdong Province between late Saturday and Sunday morning.

The China’s National Meteorological Centre issued warnings for Guangdong and neighboring provinces, including Fujian, Jiangxi, and Hunan, urging residents to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel due to potential transport disruptions. By Friday evening, over 20,000 people had been relocated across parts of Guangdong.

In response to the impending storm, Guangdong began suspending rail services on Saturday, with both high-speed and conventional train operations expected to cease on Sunday. Additionally, airport operations in major cities such as Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Xiamen may face disruptions starting Saturday.
