UAE Closes Airspace After Iran Strikes US Bases

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has closed its airspace in response to missile strikes launched by Iran targeting U.S. military bases across the Middle East, escalating tensions in the region. Reports indicate that Bahrain confirmed the U.S.

Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Juffair was one of the targets, with smoke observed rising from the area. The interior ministry of Bahrain issued an emergency alert, urging residents to seek shelter amid reports of explosions in the capital, Manama.

At least one person has reportedly been killed, and several missile launches were intercepted. The UAE condemned the strikes as a "flagrant violation" of national sovereignty and international law, asserting its right to respond.

Qatar's defense ministry reported successful interception of missiles aimed at its territory, leading to the suspension of Qatar Airways operations. Kuwait also announced the closure of its airspace as a precautionary measure.

The U.S. and British embassies in the region advised citizens to remain indoors due to heightened tensions.
