Missile and Drone Attacks Disrupt UAE Airports, Casualties Reported

Late Saturday, the UAE experienced a wave of missile and drone attacks, resulting in at least one confirmed death and several injuries. The attacks impacted major aviation hubs, specifically Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport, triggering panic and leading to the temporary suspension of flight operations.

The UAE Aviation Authority confirmed casualties and described the incidents as linked to intercepted drones targeting Zai International Airport. Four individuals sustained injuries at Dubai International Airport, where emergency services were deployed to treat victims.

Although officials did not immediately disclose the full extent of structural damage, reports indicated that falling debris from intercepted missiles and drones caused limited destruction near airport facilities. The UAE's air defense forces reportedly engaged dozens of missiles and drones during the assault.

Following the attacks, the nation’s airspace was temporarily closed, stranding thousands of travelers and compelling airlines to cancel or delay scheduled services. This incident is part of a broader escalation of tensions in the Middle East, with Iranian forces reportedly retaliating against U.S. and Israeli interests.
