Getafe's Christantus Uche Out for Entire La Liga Season

Christantus Uche, a 23-year-old midfielder for Getafe, has been ruled out for the entire 2026/27 La Liga season following a serious knee injury sustained during a pre-season friendly against AS Monaco on Thursday. Uche was injured after a challenge from Monaco defender Christian Mawissa, who received a straight red card for the incident.

Initial assessments suggested a severe contusion; however, an MRI scan revealed multiple tears to the ligaments and meniscus in Uche's right knee. He is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days and will begin a lengthy rehabilitation program.
