Christy Ucheibe Joins Al Hilal, Teams Up with Oshoala

Christy Ucheibe, a 25-year-old midfielder, has transferred from Portuguese champions Benfica to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, where she will join fellow Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala. Ucheibe signed a two-year contract that extends until the summer of 2028 after her contract with Benfica expired.

During her six-year tenure at Benfica, Ucheibe made 91 appearances and contributed to the club's dominance in Portuguese women’s football, winning several domestic honors. Prior to her time at Benfica, she played for Swedish club Assi IF and Nigerian side Nasarawa Amazons.

Ucheibe made her Super Falcons debut in 2022, earning 32 caps and scoring three goals, and was part of Nigeria’s squad that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Known for her energy, physicality, and versatility, Ucheibe can play in midfield or at center-back and aims to help Al Hilal challenge Al Nassr for supremacy in Saudi women’s football.
