Ugboaja Announces Candidacy for NBBF Presidency

Former Nigerian international basketball player Ejike Ugboaja has declared his intention to run for the presidency of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). Motivated by a desire to contribute to basketball's development, Ugboaja aims to create a more united, transparent, and sustainable structure for the sport in Nigeria.

He, a former D’Tigers forward who was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, expressed that his decision followed consultations with stakeholders who advocated for a renewed approach to Nigerian basketball. Ugboaja recognizes the potential of basketball to provide opportunities for young Nigerians and understands the challenges faced by players, coaches, and administrators.

His campaign focuses on unity, investment, and effective leadership to position Nigeria as a significant force in African and global basketball. He believes that achieving this requires quality coaching, strong competitions, modern facilities, and player development programs.
