Omeire Defends Ugochinyere Against Zoning Claims

Hon. Rufus Omeire, a former member of the House of Representatives and senatorial candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP), defended Rep. Ikenga Ugochinyere regarding allegations of a zoning arrangement affecting representation in Ideato Federal Constituency. In a press statement issued in Abuja on September 3, Omeire argued that Ugochinyere's election was a result of the collective will of the constituents, not a rotational formula.

He referenced his own experience seeking a second term without zoning restrictions and noted that previous lawmakers from Ideato North did not provoke zoning debates. Omeire praised Ugochinyere as "the people's messenger," emphasizing his role in securing N26 billion for the Ideato Bridge project.

He challenged the state government to identify any independent projects initiated in the constituency and criticized those opposing Ugochinyere as "roadside clowns" engaging in a "kindergarten attack." Omeire urged them to cease their "childish" attempts to gain attention.
