UI Opens Distance Learning Admission for Candidates

The University of Ibadan has introduced a special admission window for its Open, Distance and eLearning (ODeL) programme, aimed at candidates who participated in the Post-UTME screening but were unable to gain admission due to space constraints. Prof.

Olufade Onifade, Director of the UI Distance Learning Centre, announced that this initiative provides an alternative pathway for candidates to earn a degree without the limitations of on-campus availability. The application window for the 2025/2026 academic session will close on August 15, 2026, with classes commencing on August 17, 2026.

Candidates who took the 2026 UI Post-UTME are eligible to switch to the ODeL mode at no cost. The programme offers flexible virtual classes and is taught by the same faculty as conventional programmes, ensuring graduates receive the same prestigious degree.

Interested candidates can apply through the official portal, and the university encourages prompt action due to limited slots.
