Nigerian Universities UI, UNILAG Make Top 1,000 Global Ranking

The University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos have achieved global recognition by ranking among the top 1,000 universities worldwide in the latest 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. This accomplishment is described as a major milestone for Nigeria's higher education sector by Professor Emeritus Peter Okebukola.

While Nigerian universities like Bayero University Kano and Covenant University also made it to the top 1,200, there was a slight drop in performance compared to the previous year. The rankings reflect the strong performance of Nigerian institutions in teaching, research, and innovation.
