UK Exempts 18 Countries from English Test for Visa

The United Kingdom has published a list of 18 countries and territories whose nationals are exempt from demonstrating English language proficiency when applying for a Scale-up Worker visa. This visa enables individuals to work in eligible jobs for fast-growing UK businesses, referred to as scale-up companies.

The UK government specifies that while these nationals do not need to prove their English language skills, they must still meet other qualifying conditions related to the sponsoring employer. The sponsoring business must be recognized as a fast-growing or scale-up company that fulfills defined criteria to legally sponsor overseas workers under this visa route.

Nationals from countries not included in the exemption list will be required to provide evidence of their English language ability as part of their application process.
