Nigeria Immigration Service Extends Passport Exercise in UK

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced an extension of its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom, now set to run from October 6 to October 30, 2026. This decision was made following a public announcement signed on September 25 by DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, the Service Public Relations Officer, and approved by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in response to a high turnout and sustained demand from Nigerians in the UK.

The intervention will occur at designated centers in London, Manchester, and Aberdeen, with the Cardiff venue to be announced later. To ensure an orderly process, all intending applicants must book appointments through the provided portal or the Nigeria High Commission’s website.

Applicants are required to bring a completed application form, proof of payment slips, their intervention appointment printout, and a self-addressed return envelope. For passport renewals, the current passport must be presented.

Cash payments will not be accepted at the venues, and the NIS reaffirmed that its Contactless Passport Application System is fully operational.
