NIS Extends UK Passport Exercise to October 3, 2026

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an extension of its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in London and Manchester, United Kingdom, from September 19 to October 3, 2026. This decision follows increased demand from Nigerians residing in the UK.

The extension was approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. Within the first four days of the exercise, 1,477 Nigerians were successfully processed and enrolled, with more than half of them already receiving their passports.

Eligible applicants are advised to book appointments via the High Commission of Nigeria's website and must bring their completed application form, payment receipt, appointment slip, current passport, and a self-addressed return envelope. The NIS emphasized that the passport application and payment processes are fully automated and cashless, with no additional charges for participation.

The fees remain $162 for a five-year passport and $242 for a ten-year validity booklet. Further details on the exercise will be communicated through official channels.
