UK Sets Timeline for Student Visa Applications

The UK government has released guidance detailing the earliest time students currently residing in the United Kingdom can apply for a new Student visa. Students can submit their applications three months prior to the commencement of their new course.

This timeline is specifically for those applying from within the UK, as opposed to international applicants. Additionally, students must ensure that their new course begins within 28 days of their current visa's expiration.

This creates a narrow timeframe for students to act, as applying too early is not allowed, and any delay beyond the 28-day window could result in a lapse of legal status in the UK. The regulations aim to ensure that students maintain continuity in their studies and do not overstay their visas.

If students fail to meet these requirements, they may be required to apply for a visa from outside the UK, which follows a different application process.
