FG to Delist Contractors Not Mobilizing Without Payment

On a recent inspection of the Mararaba-Keffi road project managed by China Harbour Engineering Company, Minister of Works David Umahi announced that the Federal Government will delist contractors who do not mobilize for projects without receiving advance payment. Umahi warned that firms failing to demonstrate commitment to project timelines will be removed from future contracts.

He stated that the government is reviewing the performance of contractors handling federal road projects, emphasizing the need for adherence to approved specifications and contractual obligations. Umahi noted that the government has begun to address the challenges faced by contractors, particularly those who have not commenced work without advance payments.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to ending the era of abandoned and substandard infrastructure projects, which have hindered national development. The minister also inspected the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road section II, highlighting the importance of timely project completion for economic growth and national integration.
