Umahi to Remove Non-Performing Contractors from Projects

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has issued a warning to contractors who fail to perform on projects, stating that he will remove those who do not commit to delivering on 25 jobs awarded under President Bola Tinubu's administration. During an inspection tour of the Mararaba-Keffi-Zuba-Kaduna road, Umahi noted that some contractors are not ready to invest in their projects while waiting for federal government payments.

He emphasized that such delays hinder national progress and announced plans to weed out these non-performing contractors. Umahi also cautioned against the indiscriminate removal of existing asphalt and stressed the importance of proper construction practices, including the installation of drainage systems to prevent damage to roads.

He mentioned that JRB Construction Company is currently handling the Mararaba-Keffi road project and is recognized as one of the best indigenous contractors for its quality work and commitment to the project.
