Umahi Appeals for Ebonyi Support on Superhighway Project

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has appealed to the people of Ebonyi State for support regarding the Federal Government's 123km superhighway project. During an inspection of the ongoing construction work on the 118-kilometer section of the superhighway, Umahi highlighted the importance of cooperation from the state government to fast-track the removal of structures obstructing the project’s alignment.

The superhighway, which stretches from Calabar to Lagos, is a key infrastructure initiative under President Bola Tinubu's administration. Umahi noted that the project is crucial for enhancing connectivity in the region, particularly around the Enugu-Abakaliki road corridor.

He acknowledged the challenges posed by properties along the old Enugu-Abakaliki road and stressed the need for collaboration to beautify the area with a dual carriageway and flyover. Umahi commended the contractor, Infoquest Nigeria Limited, for the quality and pace of work, and mentioned that earthwork is progressing simultaneously across different sections to ensure timely completion.
