UN Supports Dangote Group's Efforts on Food Security

Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, visited Dangote Industries Limited's industrial complex in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, where she underscored the strategic importance of the company's operations in addressing Africa's food security challenges. She called for stronger global partnerships to amplify scalable solutions capable of mitigating ongoing food crises.

Mohammed highlighted the impact of supply chain disruptions across Africa, driven by global economic pressures and geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East. Aliko Dangote, the President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, noted the company's efforts to ramp up exports of urea and premium motor spirit to African markets amid these challenges.

He mentioned that Dangote Industries has intensified shipments of fertilizers to support agricultural production and has been actively involved in supplying petroleum products to cushion the impact of the crisis. The company aims to stabilize supply across multiple regions, leveraging its refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.
