Dangote Partners Niger State for Rice Production Boost

Dangote Group has entered into a partnership with the Niger State Government to accelerate industrialization and rice production in the state. According to a statement from Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Brand Communications Officer, the collaboration includes several economic initiatives, notably the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) by Dangote Rice Limited.

This MOU commits Dangote Rice Limited to supply 1 million metric tons of paddy rice to Niger State over the next ten years, significantly contributing to food security in Nigeria. Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, the Regional Director and Senior Advisor to the President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, noted that the construction of a rice mill with a capacity of 32 metric tons per hour is underway on a 30-hectare site in Wushishi.

This project is expected to enhance local rice production, create employment opportunities, and contribute to agricultural development in Nigeria. The Dangote Group will also participate in the 22nd edition of the Niger Trade Fair, scheduled for May 14, 2026.
