UN Calls for Increased Funding for Venezuela Earthquake Aid

The United Nations is actively seeking more funding to support earthquake response efforts in Venezuela. During a news conference at UN headquarters in New York, UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq outlined the ongoing relief efforts, which involve coordinated actions among the UN, humanitarian partners, local communities, and Venezuelan authorities.

Haq reported that humanitarian teams have initiated a joint needs assessment in collaboration with the Venezuelan government and UN partners. This assessment aims to inform recovery, reconstruction, and development plans in the upcoming months, ensuring that the response is effectively tailored to the needs of the affected populations.
