PDP Warns APC Governors Against Undermining Wike

A faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) cautioned governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to not undermine Minister Nyesom Wike, emphasizing that doing so could be politically perilous. This warning follows a public dispute where Wike accused APC governors Hope Uzodimma and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of opposing him.

Wike claimed that AbdulRazaq accused him of backing politicians against the governor's candidates in Kwara, while he reminded Uzodimma of the support he provided. In response, the Progressive Governors convened a meeting, rejecting any political alliances like Wike's Rainbow Coalition.

They stated they would not support any arrangements that could weaken the APC. Wike countered that his goal was to ensure President Bola Tinubu secures a second term, not to aid the governors.

Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the PDP's National Publicity Secretary, asserted that Wike's support for Tinubu does not equate to endorsing the APC and that the APC governors' fears stem from their governance records.
