APC Group Slams El-Rufai Over Bandit Empowerment Allegations

The Progressive Congress League Professionals (ALP) criticized Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna, for alleging that the federal government empowers bandits. The ALP described El-Rufai's claim as unfair and deeply insulting, stating that it misleads the public and undermines the efforts of security agencies.

The group commended the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) led by Nuhu Ribadu for its role in combating insecurity and emphasized a dual strategy of military operations and community engagement to address the banditry issue. The ALP defended the government's approach of not engaging in ransom payments or inducements to bandits, highlighting the need for a comprehensive security strategy.
