Nigeria Secures Affordable HIV Prevention Drug Lenacapavir at UNGA80

Nigeria has achieved a significant milestone in HIV prevention by securing a groundbreaking agreement for the affordable distribution of the revolutionary drug lenacapavir. The Federal Government, through the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), announced the price reduction of the HIV prevention injection, making it more accessible to millions across Nigeria and 100 other countries.

The drug has shown 100% effectiveness in preventing new HIV infections. This agreement, revealed at the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York, marks a turning point in the country's fight against HIV and is set to have a broad impact on global HIV prevention efforts.
