Unilever and UNICEF Equip 900,000 Nigerian Youth with Skills

Unilever and UNICEF have announced that they have surpassed their initial target by equipping over 900,000 Nigerian youth with essential skills for future employment through the Future-Ready Skills Program (FUCAP). This milestone was revealed during a press briefing in Lagos, marking the two-year anniversary of the three-year initiative.
Tobi Adeniyi, Managing Director of Unilever Nigeria, emphasized that the program is a deliberate investment in the lives of young Nigerians, aiming to bridge the skill gap and promote economic inclusion. The program has expanded its focus to include livelihood opportunities, particularly for young women facing additional barriers.
The initiative has already transitioned 40 participants into paid roles at Unilever. Zainab Obagun, Head of Corporate Affairs at Unilever Nigeria, reaffirmed the program's global ambition to equip 10 million young people with essential employability skills by 2030.
FUCAP currently operates in 20 universities across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.
