Unilever Nigeria Plc filed its 2025 Sustainability Report on 12 May 2026, covering environmental, social, and governance performance for the year ended 31 December 2025. The report details the company's climate strategy, supply chain localisation efforts, community programmes, and governance framework.
Unilever Nigeria Plc has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, titled 'Transforming with Transparency and Delivering Impact,' covering the financial year ended 31 December 2025. The report was filed as a corporate action on 12 May 2026.
The company disclosed that Nigeria's 2025 operating environment was marked by rising input costs, fluctuating consumer demand, and stiff competition, with consumers increasingly prioritising affordable and essential products. Climate-related events, including flooding in parts of Nigeria, added pressure on the company's agricultural supply chain.
On supply chain localisation, Unilever Nigeria reported that over 60% of its raw materials are now locally sourced, with more than 10,000 local farmers engaged through initiatives including agro-spice localisation and a cassava sorbitol programme.
The company's Shakti Programme empowered over 13,000 women micro-entrepreneurs across 22 states, including more than 600 persons with disabilities. Through its Future-X Unilever Campus Ambassadors Programme (FUCAP), more than 900,000 young people received work-ready skills training.
The report is aligned with IFRS S1 and S2 standards, GRI, and SASB frameworks. The Board is described as having played an active role in integrating sustainability into strategy and risk management throughout the year.
