UNILORIN Graduate Adeyemo Opeyemi Achieves First Class

Adeyemo Opeyemi Daniel graduated with a first class degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Ilorin on 23 October 2026, becoming the 3rd best student in his department and the only UTME candidate in his set to achieve this distinction. Initially, his academic goal was a 3.5 GPA, and he admitted to being unaware of what a first class degree entailed due to his background in music.

Opeyemi emphasized the importance of his support network, including lecturers, friends, and group members, in his academic success. He served as Financial Secretary of NAQSS in the 2023/24 session and as Social Director in 2025/26.

He co-represented his department at the 3rd International Conference of Environmental Sciences (ICES 2025), winning first place with a presentation on Building Information Modelling. His undergraduate thesis focused on data analytics in construction cost management.

Opeyemi also initiated a project called 300 Untold, documenting the experiences of 300-level finalists, and discovered a passion for creative direction and storytelling during his studies.
