INEC has confirmed that the 2027 general elections will proceed as scheduled, with the final voters' register to be published on December 15, 2026. The chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, emphasized the importance of maintaining the election timetable.

The Independent National Electoral Commission announced that Rivers State has 3,736,434 registered voters, leading the South-South region ahead of the 2027 general elections. INEC Chairman Professor Joash O. Amupitan emphasized the need for proper preparations and addressed conce
