UNILORIN's Yusuf Abdulwariz Becomes Top Zoology Graduate

Yusuf Abdulwariz, a Zoology graduate from the University of Ilorin, graduated as the only First-Class Honours student in his department in October 2026. His academic journey was marked by early struggles, including failing core subjects in secondary school and being advised to switch from the science stream.

Despite these challenges, he persevered, achieving credits in key subjects and later completing a National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology with an Upper Credit. His determination led him to Zoology at the University of Ilorin, where he excelled academically, earning a departmental scholarship three times and being named Scholar of the Year twice.

Additionally, he represented the university as the winner of the 2026 All-Nigeria University Quiz Competition. Outside academics, he founded Renaissance Man's Academy and developed a YouTube channel for student mentorship.

Abdulwariz's journey emphasizes that initial failures do not define one's potential and that perseverance can lead to extraordinary achievements.
