Manchester United Ends Pursuit of Victor Osimhen

Manchester United has reportedly concluded its pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, due to the combination of a significant transfer fee estimated at around €150 million and annual salary demands of approximately €14 million. Despite Osimhen's impressive form in the Turkish Super Lig, where he is on loan at Galatasaray, the financial realities have made the deal unworkable for Manchester United.

Former players Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra had publicly urged the club to sign Osimhen, but the club has shifted its focus to alternative striking options. Manchester United is considering a balanced approach to strengthen its frontline, with a shortlist of potential targets that includes Benjamin Sesko and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is reportedly interested in Sesko as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, although no formal approach has been made yet.
