United Methodist Church in Southern Nigeria Reaffirms Stance on Human Sexuality and Condemns Sexual Exploitation

The United Methodist Church Southern Nigeria Conference has reaffirmed its doctrine on human sexuality, emphasizing marriage as a covenant strictly between a man and a woman. The conference also condemned sexual exploitation and abuse, urging government authorities to strengthen legal protections for vulnerable populations.

Additionally, the conference commended Taraba State Governor for progress in reducing kidnapping and banditry. Structural changes were approved, including the creation of a new episcopal area encompassing various annual conferences and mission districts.
