Owen Oseni Surprised by Nigeria National Team Call-Up

Owen Oseni, a 23-year-old striker currently playing for Plymouth Argyle, was surprised to receive a call-up to the Nigeria national team for friendly matches against Poland and Portugal next month. This announcement comes ahead of the Unity Cup in London, which will also feature teams from Zimbabwe, India, and Jamaica.

Oseni, who has Nigerian heritage through his father and Ivorian roots through his mother, stated that representing Nigeria at the national level is a significant opportunity in his career. He noted that he had been in good form towards the end of the season, scoring three goals in Plymouth's final four league games.

Oseni joined Plymouth Argyle last summer after a spell with Scottish side St Mirren and previously played for Gateshead in the National League. He expressed excitement about the opportunity, stating that he never thought it would happen but was determined to work hard to earn his place.
