Owen Oseni Receives Nigeria Unity Cup Call-Up

Owen Oseni, a 23-year-old striker for Plymouth Argyle, has been called up to the Nigeria national team for the upcoming Unity Cup scheduled for this month in London. This marks Oseni's first senior national team call-up following a successful campaign where he scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 33 appearances.

Born in Waterford, Oseni is eligible to represent Nigeria through his Nigerian father and Ivorian mother. The Nigeria Football Federation has already sent a formal letter to Plymouth Argyle to inform the club of his selection for the national squad, confirming there are no obstacles regarding his eligibility as he holds a valid Nigerian passport.

Interestingly, Oseni's decision comes amidst discussions about other players of Nigerian heritage, such as Chiedozi Ogben, who have opted to represent the Republic of Ireland.
