University of Maiduguri Partners with OPay for N1.2B Scholarship Program

The University of Maiduguri has entered into a partnership with OPay Digital Services as a beneficiary of a N1.2 billion 10-year scholarship program. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), OPay will provide N60 million annually to support selected students at the university.

This initiative aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and cybersecurity while empowering youth through financial aid. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, praised the partnership as a milestone for the institution, emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in enhancing education and youth empowerment.

The program will award scholarships to 20 students per year for the next decade, demonstrating a significant investment in education and skill development.
