Nigerian Court Convicts IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu of Terrorism

The Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on multiple counts of terrorism. The court found Kanu guilty of incendiary public broadcasts, threats of violence, and coercive enforcement actions, leading to terrorist acts in the South East region.

Kanu was also convicted of illegally importing a radio transmitter. Justice James Omotosho described Kanu as an international terrorist whose actions have inflicted severe harm.

The prosecution successfully established direct links between Kanu's statements and violent attacks, leading to the conviction.
