LeBron James has confirmed he will join the Philadelphia 76ers for the upcoming NBA season, marking what he describes as his final contract in the league. At 41 years old, James, the highest points scorer in NBA history, departed from the Los Angeles Lakers after an eight-year tenure.

Other teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Miami Heat, were also considered as potential destinations. In a statement on X, James expressed his excitement about energizing a new fanbase and contributing to the 76ers' championship aspirations.

Earlier in the week, the Miami Heat mistakenly shared a link to an 'introductory press conference' for James, which was later clarified as an error by a Heat spokesperson. James has previously won two NBA titles with the Heat in 2012 and 2013 and has had two stints with the Cavaliers, the team that drafted him in 2003.
