Nigeria Reassures Safety Amid U.S. Advisory for Embassy

The Nigerian government, represented by Alhaji Moham Idri, the Minister of State, addressed the nation regarding a recent advisory from the U.S. Department of State, which recommended the departure of non-emergency personnel from its embassy in Abuja as a precautionary measure.

Idri reassured Nigerians and international partners that public institutions remain fully operational and that daily life, including government and economic activities, is not disrupted. He highlighted ongoing security operations across multiple regions, driven by coordinated military efforts and intelligence-led interventions, which have strengthened inter-agency collaboration and reduced threats.

While acknowledging isolated security challenges, Idri stated that there is no general breakdown of law and order, and the vast majority of the country remains stable. He emphasized that Nigeria is open for business, travel, and investment, and ongoing economic reforms are aimed at strengthening investor confidence and improving the country’s global standing.
